Shaw was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket following Friday's game, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports. Shaw was brought up to start at first base Friday with David Ortiz serving a one-game suspension, and he went 0-for-2 with a walk in his brief big league stint. He will head back to Pawtucket with Ortiz eligible to return to action Saturday.
