Shaw was optioned to the minors Wednesday, Sean McAdam of CSN New England reports. Shaw was added to the Red Sox's 40-man roster in November after swatting 21 homers across two levels in 2014. The 24-year-old is likely in line for a full season at Triple-A Pawtucket, but may receive his first call to the majors at some point later this season if Mike Napoli or Allen Craig miss time due to injuries.
