Shaw tossed 2.3 shutout innings in relief and struck out three batters en route to claiming his fifth victory of the season in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the White Sox. Pitching for the sixth time in seven games, Shaw was asked to stay in the game longer than normal due to the game heading to extra innings. Shaw will almost certainly receive the next day or two off given his heavy workload, but his 2.44 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 65 appearances this season will continue to entrench him as closer Cody Allen's top setup man.
