Shaw has been stuck in a 5-for-36 skid to begin June, dropping his average from .295 on the season to .268. He still has a stranglehold on the third base job, but with lefty Pat Dean on the mound for the Twins on Sunday, manager John Farrell decided it was a good time to give Shaw a rest. Josh Rutledge will fill in for Shaw at the hot corner.
