Shaw (foot) is out of the lineup for Friday's matchup with Tampa Bay, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

Shaw, who's been dealing with a bruised foot, will get his second game off in eight as newly acquired third baseman Aaron Hill makes his first start for the Red Sox following his acquisition from the Brewers on Thursday. With Hill in the fold now, Shaw could see decreased action at the hot corner going forward but given he's also made 12 starts at first base this season, it's unlikely he'll disappear from the lineup.
