Severino, who was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, said he believes he will start Sunday against the Rays, Wallace Matthews of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Two days after being sent down, Severino is back on the Yankees' active roster replacing Nathan Eovaldi (elbow). Chad Green would also be an option for Sunday, but the Yankees need a starter for Monday as well and Green figures to take that turn on one additional day's rest. Severino struggled Tuesday at Boston, giving up five runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings, but he was excellent in his first appearance of August and it sounds like he will face a relatively soft landing in the Rays in his return to the rotation.
