Seth Smith smacked his sixth home run and third in five games during Thursday's loss to the Cubs. It's terrifying to think what San Diego's offense would be without Smith. He's hit safely in 14 of 18 May games and had a 1.372 OPS this month entering play on Thursday. Smith is second in the National League with a .338 average and second with a .615. The veteran has gotten a little lucky with success on balls put in play, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be owned across formats right now.
