The Pirates optioned Swaggerty (shoulder) to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Swaggerty, who underwent surgery on his right shoulder last June, didn't appear in any Grapefruit League games prior to his demotion. He appears to still be in recovery mode from surgery, so his availability for the start of the Triple-A season may be in question. The 24-year-old boasts top-notch speed and could get a look in the big-league outfield later in 2022, but he'll first have to prove he's healthy at Triple-A.
