Solomon was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Solomon spent just over two weeks with the major-league club and pitched in low-leverage situations. The right-hander has posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 4.2 innings over five relief appearances for the Reds this year but will head back to Louisville as part of a move after Ross Detwiler (personal) was reinstated from the bereavement list.
