Cousins walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Cousins inherited runners on the corners from Tommy Kahnle. A one-out walk loaded the bases, but Cousins was able to escape the jam unscathed to earn his first career save. The Yankees' bullpen has been leaned on heavily in recent games, with Clay Holmes and Enyel De Los Santos among the high-leverage options that were likely unavailable Tuesday. As such, don't expect Cousins to see many more save chances, though he could be due more late-inning work since he has a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB over 24 innings this season.
