Scott Rolen said Monday that he is feeling easy movement in his neck and left shoulder for the first time this season. Rolen underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder last week and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. "I certainly have aspirations of returning this year," said Rolen. "And I think [the Reds] have aspirations of me returning this year, but we're not even a week out of the surgery right now and I have some work to do to get back to the field. I have to strengthen it. Do range of motion stuff." Based on the timeline announced by the team, Rolen is on track to return in early or mid-September. Of course, that's assuming the veteran third baseman doesn't suffer any setbacks.
