Scott Rolen hit his first home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Giants. Cincinnati's deteriorating third baseman took Barry Zito deep for a solo shot in the seventh inning, and also drew a walk. A nice night, but hardly enough to overshadow the fact that Rolen is still hitting an abysmal .183/.246/.300 through his first 64 plate appearances. He's not a viable mixed-league option, and is running out of time to prove himself in NL-only formats.
