Scott Baker pitched extremely well in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing just one run on three hits over six strong innings.
Baker punched out four and didn't walk a batter in the contest, needing just 75 pitches to get through his six innings. The only damage against him came on a solo homer from Jose Tabata in the sixth inning. In his first two starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, Baker has posted a 0.82 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 5/1 K/BB ratio over his 11 innings. Perhaps the most encouraging take away from the start though, was Baker's improved velocity. He'll look to extend that success when he takes on the Braves at home on Friday.
