Saunders is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, according to Sportsnet's Barry Davis.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders will be held out with manager John Gibbons opting to use a lineup of exclusively right-handed hitters against Royals starter Danny Duffy. Saunders does own a .991 OPS against left-handers this season, but he has not been hitting much of late, and Duffy has limited opposing lefties to just a .192 batting average this season, so Gibbons decided to use Melvin Upton in left field instead.
