Saunders (hamstring) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

It's the third straight absence for Saunders, who wasn't available to pinch hit in either of the previous two contests. The Jays haven't provided any indication yet that Saunders will require a DL stint, but that could become a possibility if his injury lingers into the middle of the week. With Saunders out of commission, Ezequiel Carrera will get another start in left field while serving as the club's leadoff hitter.
