Santana was recalled from Triple-A Rochester before Friday's game at Milwaukee. He was hitting .308/.343/.492 in 15 games since he was demoted to Triple-A Rochester. Santana drew four walks in Triple-A compared to just two in 188 place appearances in the majors this year, so he's showing some signs of progress with his plate discipline. It's not clear if Santana will return to being the everyday shortstop or work in a utility role. It's also possible he could move to center field with Byron Buxton on the DL with a thumb injury.
