Sandoval (knee) is expected to make his first rehab start with Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Sandoval was able to work out on the field prior to Tuesday's game without an issue, clearing the way for him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment. He'll serve as designated hitter in the first game, progressing to third base from there. The length of his rehab assignment hasn't been specified yet, though a return date may start to become clearer after Friday's contest.
