Sanchez held the Rangers to three runs on seven hits over seven innings in a no-decision Wednesday. He struck out five and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Other than a six-run disaster against Oakland on April 22, Sanchez has been incredibly sharp on the mound for the Jays, turning in quality starts in each of his other five outings. The 23-year-old righty is proving with every start that he belongs in the rotation after spending most of the last two seasons in the bullpen; the only question is whether he'll be able to sustain this sort of success into the second half of the season, as he threw only 102 innings last year and his career-high is just 133.1. For now, though, enjoy the ride, which continues Monday against the Giants.
