Sanchez has made major altercations to his repertoire that have helped him succeed early in 2016, Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez's entire arsenal (fastball, sinker, changeup and curveball) is looking sharper, but it's the hook that's giving him a new two-strike option this season. He's already struck out as many hitters with it (15) in 52 innings as he did in 92.1 innings last season. It's a valuable tool for a pitcher who can be decidedly fastball-heavy at times. Looking at the 23-year-old's 3.29 ERA and 1.23 WHIP make most forget that he had to earn his starting spot this past spring. Sanchez has more than earned the right to be a mainstay in one of the (surprisingly) best rotations in baseball.
