Sanchez (finger) threw a pain-free bullpen session Sunday, and is hopeful he'll be ready for the Jays' weekend series against Seattle, Rosie Dimanno of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Last year's AL ERA champion dished out 33 pitches, unleashing his full arsenal without a problem during Sunday's session. "Everything went well," Sanchez said. "No pain in the finger. Everything felt like it was coming out nice and easy. I was able to snap off my curveball with no pain. The last four or five days, there's been no issues. So everything's on schedule." Before Sunday, Sanchez had only been able to play catch. The successful bullpen session behind him, he's now slated to pitch in an extended spring training game Tuesday in Dunedin. If all goes well, the right-hander could be ready to toe the rubber in Toronto on Sunday.
