Sanchez (finger) has been slowed down and is now eying a return some time next weekend, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

While Sanchez was initially hoping to return next Thursday, he's recently had his timetable slowed down by a few days. The 24-year-old is now scheduled to throw a side session Sunday and, if all goes well, he'll progress to a Gulf Coast League game Tuesday. Barring any further setbacks, Sanchez will hopefully be return to action sometime next weekend, though considering he was rushed back from his last DL stint, the Blue Jays will likely exercise more caution activating him this time around. A clearer return date should start to form following his rehab start.
