Sanchez (finger) continues to progress from his blister, but may not be able to return to the mound this season, according to manager John Gibbons, Mike Wilner of BlueJaysTalk reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez visited a doctor in New York on Friday for a check-up on his injury, and appears to be doing just fine, but with the season winding down, the right-hander is losing precious time if he wants to make a return to the field this year. Toronto may choose to let Sanchez rest instead of rushing him back, but as of this point, there has been no decision made on the matter. In the event that Sanchez is cleared and returns to the mound, he will likely come out of relief instead of making another start.
