Even with that rough outing, Salas has solid numbers on the season, as Monday's clean inning lowered his ERA to 2.29 to go with 18 strikeouts in 19.2 innings. Neither Salas nor Smith is likely to keep the closer's role once Huston Street returns from an oblique injury.
