Sabathia (3-2) fired 6.2 scoreless innings Tuesday, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four, in a 7-1 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
As has been the case for a lot of pitchers this season, facing the Kansas City offense was just what Sabathia needed to turn things around after coughing up 22 runs in 20.2 innings over his last four starts. The veteran lefty still has a 4.93 ERA and 1.45 WHIP on the year, but will look to build some momentum in his next start Sunday on the road against the Rays.
