Sabathia (1-0) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and four walks across six innings in Sunday's no-decision against the Orioles. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Sabathia yielded a couple of runs in the second inning as four men reached base, but he settled down thereafter and was only scored upon again after Adam Jones reached second base on a passed ball before Mark Trumbo's fifth-inning single. He struggled with his command at times, throwing just 59 percent of his pitches for strikes, but the damage was mitigated by the fact that the O's did not muster a single extra-base hit. Sabathia will take a winning record and a 1.64 ERA into Friday's matchup with the Cardinals.
