Ryan (back) could start a rehab assignment within the week, the NY Post reports. Ryan was placed on the disabled list toward the end of June, first eligible to return the team on July 8. It appears as though Ryan is progressing well, but with the All-Star break just a week away, the club may elect to play it cautiously and keep the infielder on the DL until after the break.
