Ruiz went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and run in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran backstop drew the start for Mike Zunino and rapped out his first pair of hits on the season. It was only Ruiz's second start, and as per manager Scott Servais' previous statements, he's scheduled to see an above-average amount of playing time for a backup catcher this season. The 38-year-old sports a serviceable .266/.352/.393 line over his long career and is therefore expected to provide solid offensive production whenever he's in the lineup.
