Royals recalled C Manny Pina from Triple-A Omaha. Pina was acquired back in 2009 from the Rangers in the Danny Gutierrez deal. He's batted just .242/.363/.376 with five homers at Triple-A but will give the Royals some depth while Matt Treanor (concussion) is out.
