Ross will open the season with Triple-A Syracuse, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ross will return to the major-league roster soon enough, as he set to open the year as the Nationals' No. 5 starter in the rotation. The team does not need a fifth starter until April 9, so the 23-year-old will begin the season with Triple-A Syracuse in order to open up an extra roster spot for the first week.
