The Nats could find a way around that rule by placing someone on the DL to open up a 25-man roster spot for Ross, but otherwise the 23-year-old may have to wait a couple weeks before making his 2017 debut. Jeremy Guthrie appears to be the first choice to take that Sunday start instead.
