Ross is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Ross will replace Kyle Kendrick on the roster, who was optioned back to Pawtucket after struggling through two starts (12.96 ERA across 8.1 innings) to fill in for the injured Steven Wright (knee). Ross will rejoin the Red Sox's bullpen, where he posted a 4.15 ERA across 4.1 innings earlier in the year. He held a 1.80 ERA across five innings at Triple-A before being recalled.
