The Colorado Rockies released relief pitchers Bryan Shaw and Jake McGee on Friday. Both relievers fell on hard times, as a lot of relievers do in Colorado, before being cut. Shaw had a 5.61 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 112 strikeouts and 57 walks while allowing 21 home runs in 126 2/3 relief innings in his two seasons with the Rockies. McGee, a 33-year-old left-hander, had a 4.78 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 178 strikeouts, 59 walks and 34 home runs allowed in 195 2/3 relief innings in his four seasons with the club. ...
