Rockies avoided arbitration with RHP Juan Nicasio by agreeing to a one-year, $2.025 million contract. Nicasio was arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter after qualifying for Super Two status. The young right-hander posted a disappointing 5.14 ERA last season and will have to compete to remain in the Rockies' rotation in 2014.
