Rockies and RHP Jhoulys Chacin avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year, $6.5 million contract.

Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that the deal is still contingent on Chacin passing a physical. The 25-year-old right-hander threw in the instructional league after the season to build up his arm strength, and will enter the 2013 season locked into a spot in the Rockies rotation.
