Robinson was hitting .289 in the minors prior to his callup, and given his vast major-league experience, he was a reasonable choice for the Angels to bring up with Mike Trout (thumb) and Cameron Maybin (side) on the shelf. Robinson is starting in center field for Wednesday's contest, and he could pick up a good number of innings until Maybin is back in action, after which he's likely move into a fourth outfielder role.
