Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that the Red Sox and David Ortiz are having discussions Friday about extending the designated hitter's contract through 2015. Ortiz will be paid $15 million next season before hitting free agency, but the Red Sox want to make sure he never hits the open market. The veteran DH turned 38 last month, but he appears to have more left in the tank after batting .309/.395/.564 with 30 homers and 103 in 2013 before winning the World Series MVP.
