Rivero gave up an unearned run on a hit and two walks in an inning of work Sunday, but struck out two and came away with his 17th save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Reds.

It's the fifth time in 15 appearances since the beginning of August that Rivero has been scored upon, and his 4.61 ERA over that stretch is a far cry from the 0.67 mark he held at the end of July. Even so, the left-hander's blown only one of nine save chances during that time, and his 18:6 K:BB in 13.2 innings during that month-plus remains just shy of elite.
