Rios (hand) could begin a rehab assignment within the next 7-to-10 days, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Rios has returned to hitting over the last week after suffering a fracture in his left hand in April. There's still no exact timetable on when he'll be able to return to the big league club, but a rehab assignment marks the final step in his recovery, so Rios appears on track to come back early in June.
