Rickie Weeks homered and tripled in a run to account for all of Milwaukee's offense against the A's on Monday. Interesting timing. The Brewers called up Scooter Gennett before the game and turned Weeks into a platoon player. Weeks responded to the threat, hitting his first homer since May 15, collecting his first multihit game since May 2 and tripling for the first time this season. The triple was originally ruled a two-run homer before being overturned on replay. The plan was for Weeks to sit against a right-hander on Tuesday, with Gennett starting at second base. It will be interesting to see if manager Ron Roenicke sticks with that now. Weeks has had an awful year, but he has twice the upside of Gennett and the Brewers can't afford to sit him if he's on the verge of turning it around.
