Richard will join the Padres' rotation and start Sunday's game at Citi Field, MLB.com's AJ Cassavell reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres will go with a six-man rotation for at least a couple weeks with Richard slotting in to help ease the workload on the other five starters. He has not pitched more than one inning since July 12, so it would be surprising if he went deep enough into Sunday's start to qualify for a win. Equally unappealing is Richard's 6.46 ERA and 12.4 percent K-rate in 15.1 innings in the big leagues this year.
