Richard was re-signed by the Padres on Saturday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Tribune reports.

Richard will join the Padres bullpen after spending the past year with the Cubs. He was a member of the Padres from 2009 through 2013, but left in free agency that winter. Richard was recently DFA'd by the Cubs on July 26, after only pitching 14 innings out of the bullpen this year, allowing 10 runs with a 2.14 WHIP.
