Richard (1-0) shut the Dodgers out for eight innings Tuesday, allowing just five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
With his pitch count at 99, the veteran lefty wasn't allowed to start the ninth and go for a complete-game shutout, but this was still an incredibly impressive 2017 debut -- particularly considering that these same Dodgers just hung 14 runs on the San Diego pitching staff on Opening Day. That said, we're talking about a 32-year-old who put up a 41:31 K:BB last year, so don't get too excited.

Clayton Richard led ALL fantasy scorers yesterday?!? Watch the rush on the waiver wire and laugh. The Pads got a real rarity out of the softballing fossil. They oughta ship him to Seattle and nickname him the Ancient Mariner!
