Head was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Head's back-and-forth between the majors and minors will continue, as he'll return to Durham five days after being promoted. The 31-year-old has a 1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB over 23 innings for the Rays this season, so it should only be a matter of time before he rejoins the big-league club.
