Cueto (elbow) played catch Wednesday for the first time since being placed on the injured list, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Manager Gabe Kapler said Sept. 8 that Cueto would be shut down from throwing for at least another 10 days, but the right-hander apparently received clearance a bit ahead of schedule.
