Atlanta reinstated Stephens (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Sunday.

Right-hander Bryce Elder was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear room on the active roster for Stephens, who had been on the shelf since Aug. 27. The 28-year-old has been a useful piece out of the Atlanta bullpen this season, logging a 3.89 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 44 innings to go with two saves and two holds over 32 appearances.
