Brogdon (foot) began a rehab assignment with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Brogdon was placed on the injured list back in April due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He appeared in a pair of minor-league rehab appearances in early May before being shut down suddenly. There haven't been any updates regarding Brogdon's health -- or even a reason for the pause -- since then, though he's feeling well enough to pitch in games again. Given the lengthy layoff, Brogdon will likely require a long rehab assignment and should be multiple weeks away from returning.
