Reds manager Bryan Price said Thursday that the latest report from strength and conditioning coach Sean Marohn regarding Votto's health was "very, very good," MLB.com reports. "The strength was outstanding, the stamina was good and the agility," Price said. "Right now, we're looking to hit the ground running when [Votto] gets to Goodyear and being able to see with our own eyes where he's at. I'm confident that he's going to be ready to go." Votto has spent the offseason in his hometown of Toronto, with Marohn reporting frequently on his recovery from a distal quadriceps strain. The injury limited the former NL MVP to just 62 games last season, but the Reds seemed to be taking an especially cautious approach holding him out at the very end of the year, and it sounds like he's on track to enter spring training without restriction. If Votto can flash the type of power he had before the injury and avoid a setback during Cactus League play, he will likely start to creep back up many draft boards.
