Reddick recently expressed frustration with his inconsistent playing time against left-handed pitchers, CSN Bay Area reports. "It still frustrates me beyond belief when I don't play," said Reddick. "I wanna be in there helping my team no matter if a guy's throwing right-handed, left-handed or center-handed." Although Reddick started Thursday's game against Seattle's Roenis Elias, he was held out of the lineup the previous three times Oakland faced a lefty. The issue hasn't drawn much attention because the A's have faced just three lefties over the past three weeks, and they're only slated to face one more (on Sunday) before the All-Star break. Reddick didn't have noteworthy handedness splits prior to 2014, but he has really struggled against southpaws since the beginning of last year. It's a tough spot for the A's, as Reddick has otherwise been fantastic, and he clearly doesn't want to sit against lefties. While a strict platoon thus seems unlikely, it won't be surprising if Reddick gets a few days off each month.
