A head-first slide into second base Thursday resulted in a fractured left thumb for Reddick, and he's expected miss 4-to-6 weeks as a result. Jake Smolinski was recalled in a corresponding move, and he may see some starts against lefties, but Billy Burns recently made his first career start in right field, and it's possible he could see a good chunk of time there in the short term.
