Red Sox transferred OF J.D. Drew from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Boston made the move to open a spot on the 40-man roster for a slew of roster moves upcoming. Drew was originally placed on the disabled list in July with a left shoulder impingement, but made little progress after hurting his middle finger in a rehab game with Triple-A Pawtucket at the end of August. Drew was diagnosed with a fractured finger, which Red Sox GM Theo Epstein revealed Monday in a chat with WEEI radio in Boston. Josh Reddick should continue to get the majority of the playing time in right field.
